Torrential rain failed again to daunt the spirits of the East Kent DA members at the Bank Holiday charity get together at Elham. We raised £1,400 for the comic Dave Lee's Happy Holiday's charity for the disabled, sick and under privileged children of Kent.Dave Lee made a guest appearance as he popped in to meet and greet the sodden campers. Doreen Pilbeam Secretary and Dave Banks the Chairman presented Dave the cheque. We raised the money through a series of fun activities over the year at our weekend camping meets. Over the Bank Holiday we had face-painting,truck racing,bingo and a disco and we also sold hotdogs |

This years winners Guess how many squares in the blanket was won by Mike Chidley there was 567 squares Shuffle Board was won by Charlotte Valance Guess how many sweets in the jar was won by Harry yarrow Horseshoes was won by Mike Chidley The winners of the design the plaque for the charity meet was Jordan and Paige Manley They did the competition at at the Easter meet We had 4 new East Kent DA members Banks, Butler, Embleton and Hawkins Family's We hope to see you again at our other meets and thank you for joining us

Dave Lee is a stand up comedian and over the past 26 years Dave has worked in pantomime. Dave Lee is always one of the stars in the show. Dave has also done lots of TV appearances and been on the radio. Dave Lee works very hard for his charity and loves helping the disabled,sick and underprivileged children of Kent. This is some of the ways our members raise money. Some do sponsored events, where other members put money in the poly pot at coffee mornings, as tea and coffee this is free they donate to the charity. East kent D.A also raises money by doing a Camping equipment auction at our Bonfire weekend meet. If any body would like to donate to the charity they can do so by sending their donations to Doreen Pilbeam our Secretary or see her on site at any of our meetings.
