East Kent DA Youths Officers

For a long time now East Kent DA has not had a youth section.

So this year we are going to try and re-introduce a youth section again.

Would you like to join our new Camping Club Juniors (CCJ) Section? East Kent DA members, Jon and Heather Hayward (the Daddy Day Care family?) are currently planning to start this section next year, once approval from club HQ is finalized. Both Heather & Jon are CRB (police) checked and have experience of working with children, especially as they have four of their own!!

So, what are Camping Club Juniors (CCJ)?
The CCJ is aimed at bringing up our young members, from the age of 8 - 12 in preparation for the Camping Club Youth. The members camp in a special CCJ area at the larger DA meets, but have their meals with their parents, (and remain the parent's responsibility at all times). They can take part in fun, games and camping related activities.
*N.B. The CCJ is not a child minding service*
The CCJ is provided as a fun way of enabling the children to learn about camping and also to have an enjoyable time. Membership of CCJ is FREE!

And what about Camping Club Youth (CCY)?
This group is for the 12-17 year olds and in addition to learning new skills like selecting the best campsites, pitching tents, cooking, map reading and first aid; this group could also get to attend the National Youth Rally (which is in our region next year!).
We would like to start this CCY section as well, but a pair of leaders can only run one section or the other – at present, we believe we have more 8-12 year olds in the DA than 12-17 hence starting with the junior section. If you are an adult couple and interested in becoming Youth leaders, then please let Heather & Jon know! Or, if you are 12-17 years old and interested in joining the CCY ready for when we have the adults available to help then please let us know!

Membership of the CCY is also FREE and if you pass your youth test it continues to be free until your 21st birthday. All you need to do is complete an Application form to join, which can be found at

NATIONAL YOUTH RALLY 2010

The National Youth Rally 2010 is being run by South Eastern Region over the

weekend of 2nd to 4th July 2010.

The theme for the weekend will be"70's". A fun packed sports weekend for all Youth members.
